Read before you: “Get the cover material ready”

A good tip, published in Proeftuin News:

Prepare the covering material for early crops.

Early crops will be planted soon and they will often be covered. It is easy if the covering material is already ready before planting. Fleece cloth is still the best material for advancing and developing sufficient leaf mass. Climate network (including Howicover) also provides some advance, but it offers insufficient protection in very severe frost. The advantage of the climate network compared to fleece is its strength, but also that there is more air exchange.

When it rains a lot, the germination results of sown crops under fleece can be disappointing because the cloth sticks to the ground. Perforated foil is then more interesting. But this, in turn, has the disadvantage that the young seedlings can be damaged by it. Covering in narrower strips can prevent this.
